Amman, March 19 (Petra)-- Senate Speaker, Faisal Al-Fayez, extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Hashemite family, the Jordanian people, and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, which falls on Friday.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Al-Fayez said: "We pray to Almighty God to return this blessed occasion while His Majesty enjoys good health and well-being, and to protect him as a pillar of strength for the state and our nation. We also pray for the continued protection of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, the pride of His Majesty, and that this occasion returns to Jordan under its Hashemite leadership and loyal people with prosperity." Al-Fayez also expressed hope that religious and national holidays would return while Jordan continues to enjoy security and stability, alongside further growth, prosperity, and progress.
He further wished that Palestine be freed from Israeli occupation, that the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip comes to an end, and that Palestine regains its status as a free Arab state. He also expressed hope that the Arab nation will overcome its current security and political challenges.
